I try my best to stay inside my created world. I walk my character's around and think about what they would encounter, what they would smell, and how they would feel. I think about magic and what makes my world unique because my goal as an artist has always been to offer the world something that only I can. I've been inventing new icons and thinking about how they could focus as paintings. This is the time in the studio when I am drawing in my sketchbooks a lot more than doing actual paintings. I always need a substantial break after a show to recharge my ideas. These are some sketchbook panels that I would like to turn into an animated short in the future, but for now they are feeding my paintings.
